Can you guess where this is? You might not have to if you’re a good observer (credit: Monica Ray)

I’ve been reading voraciously on Medium and this is the sense I’m getting:

People don’t really want to read long form articles, at least not completely. They switch off after a few minutes, clap, comment generically and move on. They say that no one is really reading to the end.

My opinion? I’m not sure exactly.

But if you’re new to Medium or are looking for some shorter reads to inspire you, check out the folder below.

All my Short Pieces (1-2 min reads)

175 stories
The inside of the Member Lounge at the American Museum of Natural History. Wood-panelled walls with a grand portrait above a fireplace and antique furniture on a beautiful red, floral carpet.
A street sign in Henley in South Oxfordshire, England. It’s on a green rectangular background. It says “Free Pimm’s? Now we have your attention. Remember to put your rubbish in a bin or take it home for recycling.” There is a motif of a red Pimm’s can which says “Love Henley. Please don’t leave any litter behind.”
A framed large photograph of an Asian woman painted green, hiding among foliage. Her eyes are bloodshot and her hair is black. This photo was displayed as part of an Art exhibition in Central London.

When I looked at this list, I saw that I’d written over 160 shortform articles. It’s only fair that I share it with you. I’ve written about everything under the sun, covering mental health, writing on Medium, nature, schools, food, and travel.

I usually write nonfiction, but if you look carefully, you’ll see a few stories in this list.

If you’re low on time and want an even shorter list curated by me, here are three of my favorites:
